Proud Of Local Uni.?? NOT~!!

Filed under: Issues — Yatz @ 2:32 pm

As everyone knows a video regarding 50 Malay students from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) bullying / harrassing / insulting about 4-7 Chinese students in the canteen of the UPM campus, had been loaded-up into

According to sources, it is said that the Chinese students are members of the UPM Students Progessive Fronts (SPF) and the Malays were led by a student council leader to confront the Chinese, had been uploaded onto

Well, I have no idea what SPF is and they were actually setting up a help counter in the canteen to guide or help the freshies..

SPF is not an official body in the university..Therefore, the Malays were trying to interrupt their works and tried to stop them from helping the new students..

Enough said..Further details please refer to The Sun Online : Mob Heckles Seven Undergrads in UPM..

To watch the video, here it – Humiliation in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM)..

Okay..My main discussion here is not on the UPM case itself, but rather about another serious matter related to hooliganism.?? Or raggings.??

New intakes for local uni had taken place in the recent weeks..

Local universities are referred to the likes of UPM, USM, UKM, UM, UMS, UUM, UiTM, etc etc..

Complaint letters can be seen in newspaper such as The Star..

The freshies were complaining about the infamous raggings during orientations..

Ragging, brings a meaning that freshies will be bullied by the senior students or committee members in any high-profile councils or societies, such as the Student Council, during the orientation running period..

Letters written by freshies themselves, said they were being bullied with commando-like routines, such as duck walk or run around the field..

Scoldings and harrassments were also mentioned..

Commando-like routines are just a mere matter..They were also having insufficient sleeps, where the freshies were given tasks and activities in the middle of the night..

That left them merely LESS than 4 hours sleep, continuously for a week or two, where usually orientation would be a 2 weeks event..

They have to endure the raggings and couldn’t concentrate in lectures and tutorials when all the classes had started..

I DO BELIEVED that these raggings were mostly, though not all, are conducted by the MALAYS.!! Yeah, you heard me..I’m not trying to be a racist here..

I, as a pure Chinese, LOVE to be friended with Malays, A LOT..Sometimes I find them much more friendlier than any Chinese..

But in this case, NOT~!!

I myself as a student of Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TARC), where a whooping 92% are Chinese (in my wild guess), didn’t faced any raggings in the campus..

Most Chinese senior students are willing to help out the freshies..

To make this statement true and absolute, I, as the ex-Form 6 Council President (ahem~) of Cochrane Road Secondary School didn’t abused my authority power to bully or done any raggings aganist the freshies..

I had done some activities, which they thought kinda lame and silly..But in the end, they enjoyed it and the ice had broken between the Upper Sixers and Lower Sixers..

Ragging has to be stopped or this custom will be continued to live on forever..

  1. Ragging – if you wanna do it, do it like the kwai lo do it, torment them kau kau wan, not like the ones where u make look like an elementary school induction session…

so you either stop it, or bring it to the next level.

  3. i hate those malays who bullied other students. u know y? because it makes us other malays look like we’re as bad as them!! seriously? y can’t semenanjung malays behave?

is it because of their narow-minded culture where everybody else is wrong except themselves? seriously! us so-called primitive eastern malaysians (who they claim to be uncivilized, primitive and backwards) are shocked at the behaviour that they’re showing us. not only are their behaviour is smearing malays in general, now the whole bloody world has to know. seriously. grow up and behave like you’re in a developed country.

sorry bout the nagging, it makes me so mad that they act so stupid.

  4. ika : u were from the other side of the Malaysia..

as a matter of fact, the narrow minded culture among the malays are just existed in certain areas..

i myself as a residence of Cheras (KL) for almost the entire life since i was born, not afraid to say that Cheras Malays are those type of people, compared to those from upper-class area..e.g – Damansara, PJ, Subang, Bangsar..

and no worries bout the nagging and stuffs..comments are always welcomed..

  5. i get bullied by malays a lot because in my school there are LOTS OF MALAYS!!! i am a malay myself. but im not like them. most of them think they are always right. being uncivilised = being humble. being a bully = being friendly. they think that they are street people. but they are actually from rich families. and they force their parents to buy them motorbikes so that they can use it to go to school. most of their parents dont even know what their kids are doing. i know its wrong to use violence. but i need my share of respect. these damn malays dont respect themself. they look up to the wrong idiots.

i can’t stand it. we must do something big about this. give a speech or maybe put in some column in the newspaper. let them wake up. i can’t do it. as im not a very educated person. but i know moral values.

  8. earl ku wei hoong,

when you wrote a complaint letter, you asked me to proof-read it. when you need porns, i gave you my collection. when u were jobless, i lend you money. then u had a job and i was happy for u as a friend. i never ask u to repay me. i told u to pay me back only when you have the money. but that was so long ago! and the money is only RM800.

can you please explain why are u treating a friend like this? im not angry over the RM800, but i felt betrayed and disappointed with you. i dont mind if u tell me that you cannot pay right now, but you avoided my phone calls to 0123693547 and never reply to my email, and then you deleted my comment in your blog. wtf?!

if you try put yourself in my situation, what will you do? how will you feel? my small advice is, you did this to me today, someone will do the same to you in the future. the world is never fair, but it is round. what goes around comes around.

you betrayed our friendship and brotherhood, man.
