Sun Hong Muk Koot Tea @ Jalan Imbi

Filed under: Eats — Yatz @ 11:44 pm

Went to find Hikaru for lunch..

Thought of having chicken rice at Connaught, cancelled due to some problem..

Went to Maluri’s Jusco, but didn’t eat anything there..Then went to Jalan Pudu..

Lots of shops and eating places around Pudu Plaza, but no carpark available for me..

Then went to somewhere around The Store, no carpark too..

At last, drove to Jalan Imbi to eat the famous Sun Hong Muk Koot Tea after all the hassles, at about 3pm..

Yarrr~!! That’s our lunch..Or I mean, our first meal of the day..

What’s Muk Koot Tea.?? It’s actually Bak Kut Teh..

*Kedai Makanan Sun Hong Muk Koot Tea (Bak Kut Teh)*

This shop is situated on the inner opposite of Kei Tak Sek (Frutti Stall Speciality Restaurant)..

You know, the one-way road inside Jalan Imbi, before you reach the Kei Tak Sek junction, there’s a playground in the middle of the shoplots..

This Sun Hong Muk Koot Tea is next to the playground..Don’t worry, you could see the shop name from afar..

*Kinda spacious*

This place is actually the size of 4 or 5 shops..They have air-conditioned seats in the shops and also open air with heaps of fans blowing around..

*All the meats are underneath*

The soup was not bad, still not thick enough though..

It’s not the best, but definitely better compared to the one I tried at Pandan Jaya with Smashpop, Jen, and FoodLover..

*Crispy Yau Char Kwai*

The Yau Char Kwai came in a small portion *Sigh~*..

*Pork ribs (Pai kuat)*

The pork ribs were very nice..It’s very easy to chew and would not sticked between your teeth..I just love it..

*We had 5 bowls of rice*

I had 2 bowls and Hikaru had 3 bowls..I could have had another bowl, but I’m saving it for my dinner..

To give you more confidence, the patrons of this shop were not normal people..

They have pics with celebrities, hanging around in the air-conditioned shops..

We couldn’t see the pics clearly, but were quite certain among them were Jay Chou and Simon Yam..Hahahaha..

How’s that for a recommendation.?? International celebrities had eaten here before..Hehehe..

*The bill*

There’s something wrong with the bill indeed..I mean, the price..

It’s a tad expensive than other shops..You know why.??

Because they charged 5% Government Tax~!! WTF~!!

Anyway, happy drooling..Cheers..
