R.I.P Uncle Meng

Filed under: Family & Friends, Shits — Yatz @ 6:17 pm

Not long after the death my mom, my uncle, who is my mom’s lil bro, died due to liver cancer or something, at the age of 48..

He passed away peacefully in the emergency ward of University Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) at 2.22pm yesterday, 24th of November 2006..

My mom struggled for like, 8 years before her life ended in late April 2006..

But for my uncle, we called him Meng, he struggled for like, only a year after he had discovered about the tumour in his liver or something..

The problem is, he didn’t try to get any treatment from any medical centre or specialist..

He’s so stubborn that he didn’t want to listen to any advice regarding treatment or such..

He would yell off any advices from family members, friends, and colleagues..

Until around 1 month ago, he started to feel uneasy..Felt off the stairs at working place for few times, I heard..

Then his body, from abdomen way down below to his toes, was SO swollen, containing water / liquid in his body..

But from chest way up above to his hair, was SO thin..I would described it as dried up..

The shape of his skull was so obvious, leaving only his ears looked fleshy..

His body swelled due to liver failure, being unable to process substances (or something) in his body..

Hence all the unprocessed thingies trapped in his body and going no where..

Upon reaching the emergency ward in the noon yesterday, the doctors shocked and puzzled with his condition, for not receiving any treatment before..

After checking for less than an hour, the doctors said his condition is VERY critical and couldn’t be saved anymore..

Even with the help of medical apparatus and medicines and all, it’ll only extend his life for a week or two, approximately..

But of course, it might be less than a week, depending on his own strength and stuffs..

After the doctors tried to extend his life, it changed the other way round..He was going to the other world at anytime..

When the time came, he just let go everything and passed away just like that..

So, the thing here is, was he being stubborn or what.? Why didnt want to receive any treatment.??

Perhaps he thought it’s just a waste of money to try to cure something that has only a slim chance to be fully cured..

Or maybe he could have cured it by the time he was diagnosed with a tomour in his liver, suspected to be cancer of course..

No one knows..He might have to struggle for years and in the end died because of the illness, like my mom..

Or he could just save the money for other use or keep it for his family members or something..

Anyway, rest in peace Uncle Meng..
